Water on the face, feeling like my LO is weird

(note: do not read this thread if you are having frustrating bathtime problems, I don't want you to feel bad!!)

It's a good weird, if she is weird, so I'm not bothered, but I'm curious if any other toddlers don't mind their faces getting wet?

I was able to shower with Lina as a baby and anything short of the full spray wasn't a problem for her.

We play games in the tub like "Hey Liiii-naaaa, I'm filling up the whale-shaped bottle and... dumping it on your head!... Hey Liiii-naaa, I'm filling up the squirty turtle and... dumping it on your head!"

I can dump a full container (about 6 cups of water) on her head and she splutters and blinks and then giggles and takes a little cup and fills it with water and climbs onto me to pour it on my head.

DD LOVES water. She can go underwater when we are swimming. We recently started a Y membership and all she says when she sees her shoes now is 'I swimmin!'.
Like you we did showers when she was itty-bitty. She likes dumping the water over her head and will do it herself if we aren't doing it for her!

Ds loves the water. He constantly puts his face in in the tub. Splashing he thinks is hilarious.

My DS is the same way. He LOVES the water. He will dump water on his own head/face in the tub, get really excited when I do it to him, etc. He also showers with DH and I everyday and he loves that too.

Uhm, you know those squirt bottles people keep around for disciplining cats? My daughter loves being squirted in the face with them. She thinks it is the funniest thing ever.

My littlest (two today!!) is the only one of my kids who has been more than fine with shower spray in his face, or having water poured over his head and running down over his face. Polar opposite of his brother, who STILL can't stand either and dreads having his hair washed in case I accidentally get a drop on his face. They are so different!!

dd has always loved the water.

DS doesn't mind it UNLESS it's for purposes of rinsing shampoo out of his hair. I guess it's just an "if it's for fun, then I like it, if I HAVE to do it, then I hate it" kind of thing.

Liam will sit on the floor and squirt himself in the face with them until he is soaked.. he thinks it is so funny!

DD is the same way. She loves the shower spray, sticks her head under the bath water and if I give her a bucket of water to play with (only I can make dinner some days) she dumps it over her face and screeches with laughter. Kids are so weird

Mine love it also. We took them into the shower from birth, and that is how they bathe regularly. Bathtime is only for play around here I am so thankful we started it at birth b/c hair-washing is no big deal at all to my kids. DS is almost 5 and washes his own hair, rinsing it by putting his entire head into the shower spray. It is awesome I had issues with hair-washing as a kid so I am thankful it's not a source of frustration for my kids.

That's awesome! I think it must be personality, but just think how easy it will be to teach swimming lessons! I'm afraid it will be an uphill battle for us and cautious-about-water ds!

Not necessarily. I was a water-loving baby and refused to put my face in the water at swim lessons until I was 7. (and I still remember the super-careful process I used to do it, by sitting on each step of a staircase into the water waiting until I felt okay there until I was below the water holding my breath.)
