As in won't let me put him down in the playspace or the children's museum if he can see other little kids around. As in, we took him to the library tonight and the children's room was pretty much deserted, so he was fine until a librarian walked past him at a distance of six feet and suddenly he's screaming and won't stop until he's outside.

He's always been sort of shy ever since having a string of nasty experiences at doctors' offices when he was tiny, but this is sudden and extreme. I mean, he was playing at the playspace just fine last year, despite being the only kid there not old enough to walk yet, and nearly getting trampled every couple of minutes! I'm trying my hardest to get him out around other kids during the endless endless winter but he's really not playing along. I had to hold him for about 90 minutes at the playspace last week & am looking at probably the same thing this Thursday.

I'm assuming it's a phase (he had a similar screaming snow-phobia at the beginning of the winter, but now he loves it to death out there) but some BTDT would be helpful at this point.
