Weight Watchers ~ January 2010!

Happy New Year!

A little about me:
I was a lifetime member, had another baby, lost some of the weight, but lost my LT status (my fault). Over Christmas, I realized that after two years hovering around the same weight I became a social member and was going to meetings to see my WW friends.

I'm not a big resolution girl but I'm feeling caught up in the resolution season. I'm re-committing myself to get back on plan for 2010.

My two biggest challenges are keeping up my tracking and exercise. It was doing those two I was able to get lifetime (and a very active helped).

I'll join in. I'm currently just an 'online' member- my DH and I are keeping each other accountable! But I could always use some encouraging chatter.

I lost 40lbs with WW in between DD1 and DD2. I've got about 70lbs to loose to get to my goal weight, but I'm not really hung up on numbers. I just want to feel better, etc.

I hate tracking- DH helps me with that! And I have a hard time exercising thanks to my two 'helpers'. I have managed to squeeze in 45 min-1 hour while DH does the bedtime routine and that helps.

Hi all,

I've strayed. I can only get to the Tuesday meetings, when I can't get there, it seems to mess me up. But I hope to get back on track.

I have 20lbs to loose (not stuck on numbers but that's my goal). I've been trying for over a year... hopefully this is my year to reach my goal!

I just have to share this blog with you! I love her! She used to be a leader and has great success and info! check her out if you're interested.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hello!

I joined WW back in October & have lost about 14.5 lbs by tracking & exercising a little. I lost some motivation over the holidays & gained a little weight.

My neighbor & I go to meetings almost every week & try to keep each other motivated. We are both weighing in tonight. I am excited to see if I lost since last week. Last week is when I weighed in and gained. This week I tracked EVERYTHING!! I also got 6 points worth of exercise in, so I feel pretty good & confident that I at least lost 1 lb.

I love to hear any ideas anyone has for some quick, low point dinners. Please post if you tried something new & loved it, or even if you tried something & hated it. I'm getting bored with the things I've been eating & want to try some new things.

Good luck ladies!

Yay for your supportive dh! It's always a help when exercise is scheduled in.

I'm on a total high today:
  • I survived the office pizza party by making sure we ordered a salad and snuck in a fat free sauce on the veggie pizza. It helps to be the person in charge of ordering ;-)
  • After the party (it was required party to say goodbye to an employee) I convinced my office suite mates to join the nearby gym - we had a "stress-relief" meeting
  • I had my weigh in and lost 3 lbs. Woot!

Gotta put the kiddies to bed. G'night.

Hey all.

I'm on day 5 of WW. I posted at the end of the last thread that I'm not sure if ww is going to have enough fat for me.

I love hemp oil, coconut oil and flax oil. A serving is like 4 points though!

Gosh, I guess I feel a bit discouraged already! I've maybe lost a pound or two. In the past when I've done low carb/high fat I've lost weight very quickly--like 5-6 pounds the first week and 2-3 after that. I haven't been wanting to eat as much meat as I do on low carb but I want more FAT. And I don't know if I have the patience to lose this slowly. (I did keep prior weight off pretty well until I just went nuts with some emotional eating)

Sorry I'm not bringing the WW love.

Oh the Irony, maybe you could use the flex points for the extra oil you like to use? Nothing is really off limits, so maybe you could find a way to work that in. I know in the beginning, I thought I would not be able to drink wine, but I have found a way to use my flex points to have 2 pts worth of wine here & there during my week. Also, think of the slow weight loss as a way to lose weight, while still enjoying the foods you like. This is what I love about ww, that carbs & wine & oil & sweets are not off limits. It is tricky though to find a way to work them in, I will admit. Recently, I found that I was allowing myself too many "treats" and not enough of the filling, healthy foods my body needs.

I went to my meeting & weigh in last night & lost 1.6 lbs! Yay!

Good luck everyone!

Subbing...

Just getting back on the WW wagon after having my baby (7 months ago....) I have about 60 pounds to lose to get to a comfortable weight for me. Tonight was my first weigh in, and I was down 3.2!

My goal for this week is to be better about tracking and be better about getting all my points. This past week, I know I didn't eat all the points I was supposed to, and I think my supply dipped because of it. Either that, or DS is going through a must-nurse-all-the-time phase!
Thanks Erinsmama. Darn it, I want those extra points for sweets. I just figured out that starting the week of my cycle (which I don't keep up with) wasn't the best starting place.

So I'll see how this next week goes.

Hang in there Oh the Irony. The start can seem the most difficult.

I've been spending these last two weeks feeling hungry and deprived and then I ate a corn muffin this morning...after breakfast! As I log it in, feeling rather satisfied I might add, I realize that I may not be eating enough of my extra points. I've racked up about a bucket of activity points for the week and have just as many extra points left before my week re-sets on Wednesday.

hiya! I've been doing WW for almost 3 weeks ( meetings on Tues, online and very cool app for my iphone) i lost 3lbs the first week, then gained a pound, we'll see what week 3 has in store on Tues.
I've got 40lbs to lose...my youngest baby is almost 3 so it's taken me a while to get to this point. But, I've got a little more time for myself, a home gym, YMCA membership, and WW membership...I can go to the therapist as well. So there's really no more excuses left. I'm ready to get my rockin' body back

Today was weigh in day. 0 Change for me. I should have expected it since last week I lost 7 (first week). The last time I did WW I had a 2 week cycle; lose-steady, lose-steady.

I've gotten my hands on some workout videos to do in the livingroom and I'm getting into a groove. Hopefully I'll see better results next week!
I've been on WW since July; consistent with meetings the whole time, consistent with tracking (but not exercise) the first four months, consistent with exercise (but not tracking) the past two and a half months. Oh, I've lost 30 or so lbs and have about 8 to go until I reach my goal.

I am killing it at the gym, I mean going nuts with exercise, but I HAVE GOT TO get back to tracking if I expect to get these last few lbs off and make my goal and lifetime!

Also, I am one of those who doesn't drink enough water...so here I go for a glass...
Well, last night was weigh in for me. I lost .2 lbs. I think that's a little funny. I went over my flex & activity points. This week I'm serious though. I only have about 5 lbs to go until I reach my goal!

I'm gonna do the 3 mile walk tonight...

And you will! We all just need to be patient. Knowing that you have had a cycle like that in the past should help. I used to be on a 3 to 5 week cycle like that myself. This time, I'm approaching things different. I know tracking and exercise got me to lifetime last time. So I'm trying to keep that up.

I'm so impatient just listening to the two of you, Keep it up you two! You are soooooo close

I lost another 1.8 at my WI this week. I feel like I'm slipping a bit on my tracking. It's not that I'm not tracking, it's that I might be getting sloppy about my measures and how many points I am actually consuming.

If any of you are on eTools, I started a blog today. I'm WOHMx2. The blog is called, Feeling Like WonderWoman in a Mere Mortal's Body.

Nice work! 1.8 is practically the poster child for "perfect amount to lose in a week"

I weighed in today. I'm down 3lbs.

DH and I are doing this together (or at least at the same time) and now that we're about 4 weeks in I think we're starting to hit our stride. Food choices are becoming easier and we've both been able to fit in more activity that we used to before.

My biggest gripe is that I don't eat very much packaged food and I find it horribly tedious entering in all my recipes and such. And sometimes I can't find 'normal' foods on the list. Like I found 50 entries for brand name, packaged chicken broth, but nothing for just 'regular' chicken broth. Any sage words for me?

Hi all!

I joined Weight Watchers on my birthday so I've been doing it a little over 4 weeks now. I am just stunned by the results. I'd been working out and lifting weights since last January and while I was losing inches, I wasn't losing weight (which meant that I wasn't seeing any definition). So I finally bit the bullet and joined. I have a really difficult time getting to meetings. In the four weeks I've been on the program, I've only been to one meeting. But I'm able to keep myself on track using the e-tools and so far, I've lost about 17 pounds. Which is a lot. Last week, I lost 5 pounds and WW, of course, warned me about it. I have no idea how I managed that. Especially since the week before, I lost less than a pound! I'm still nursing (only twice a day though) so I was a bit alarmed. I never use more than 10 of my weekly points yet I don't feel hungry or deprived and so I never get anywhere near touching my activity points (usually 25-30 a week). But I'm not too keen on eating even when I'm not hungry. So I'm not really sure what to do about that.

I feel like I'm proof positive that WW works. I know it works which is amazing. It's changed the way I eat. When I cook, I actually measure out the oil I'll be using which has actually helped me save money--a bottle of oil lasts so much longer. I'm making much better choices (a slice of sprouted wheat bread leaves me feeling much fuller longer than a slice of regular whole wheat bread yet it's only one point as opposed to two points). I'm eating much more vegetables. Fruits too but in some kind of moderation as opposed to endless bananas, grapes, oranges, etc . . . because it's "only fruit". Oh, and for me, it's not about lowfat this, lowfat that . . . I eat the foods I've been eating but with care and consciousness. And boy, do I enjoy my food more since I know I won't be going for seconds, and thirds, and fourths, and fifths.

Anyway, glad to join the group and enjoying reading everyone's story.

Yay! Congrats on the weight loss!

The best thing about it for me is being able to enter all my recipes. But I'm with you . . . it gets frustrating because I can't add my vegetable broth recipe to my recipe for split pea soup. That's where the Recipe Builder is limited. Hopefully they'll upgrade it at some point. Maybe I'll write to them. I don't have any "sage words" lol . . . What I end up doing is mathematics. If one recipe for broth yields 6 servings at 2 points per serving, I'd do my split pea recipe, add it to my Points manager and then manually add 2 points. Not really all that accurate though (especially if the soup recipe yields 4 or 8 servings) but it's as good as it gets. Otherwise, I input my broth recipe and figure out the points and then find a commercial one with the same numbers.

I'm hanging in.....tomorrow will be week 4. I feel like I'm creating some great fitness habits, but not so great with the tracking. I have a mental aversion to focusing on food that much (does that make sense?) it's like I don't want to be so obsessed with what I eat. But, obviously not paying attention has kept me stuck with 30 extra pounds ( and my baby will be 3 in May). So, I don't know what to do. Although I am discouraged by my measly 2.2lb weight loss, I'm going to stick with it.
One thing I am sure of is that I never feel hungry....that's probably not a great sign when trying to lose weight. I think I should have a cut off time at night, seems like that has worked in the past and will save me 5-7 snacky points.
wish me luck.

I went to my meeting & weigh-in on Wednesday & lost 2.2 lbs this week! Yay! I am very close to my goal, so I'm trying to be very good, but it's my birthday weekend, and I will be getting together for a girls night at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight & I plan to have beer & wings. hehe. Also, we are having company over tomorrow & are planning on ordering out. Monday is my birthday & my husband & I have a date planned at an awesome Italian restaurant. So, I just have to make some good food choices I guess. I have 27.5 flex points left until next Wednesday & I am hoping to fall within my points & possibly lose the last couple pounds. We'll see!
