Newborn with clogged throat?

My DS is 3 weeks old. After I nurse, he seems to have phlegm in his throat. I asked the pediatrician about it and he assured me this is normal. HOWEVER, I cannot help but still be concerned. Sometimes his throat never clears. I finish nursing, his breathing sounds raspy and like he has a "frog" in his throat, and then it is time to nurse again. I guess I just need to reassurance from moms that have been there.

I have Googled this and searched the forums, but can't really find anything. TIA.

my daughter had this until she was about 3 months old, i was assured that the sound is coming from the back of the throat/sinus cavity and not a blockage or in the lungs.
they grow out of it

Does it sound like it's coming from his throat, of his chest? If it's his chest he could have stridor which can be caused by reflux and aspiration during feedings. One of my babies had this. It was very scary but he outgrew it.

is definitely coming from his throat. Sounds like he has a frog, but he doesn't know how to clear it. I'm just worried he isn't getting enough air or could choke. It just doesn't sound right, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all.
