Kundalini Awakening and Christianity

Thread Starter
I posted this on another message board similar to MDC and this morning thought it might be interesting to post here.

For those of you familiar with kundalini awakening (KA)....do you feel that it can be combined with the practice of Christianity? If so, how? If not, why?

Just curious. I have a relative who is REALLY getting into KA and clairvoyance and crystals and stones, etc. I have never really paid much attention to it all until now. She says the two practices can be combined. And, from what little I have read....I don't think they can. But, I guess my mind might be open because I do know that many practices of modern Christianity have adopted are either pagan in origin or have some origin outside of what you would think is Christian.

TIA

It is my personal belief that kundalini awakening and similar spiritual experiences are analogous to the experiences of Christian mystics who meditated until they felt suddenly filled with Christ consciousness.

I'm not a Christian anymore, but my stock response to crystals, KA, etc not being "Godly" has always been that God made them too

I practice Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. I am also a Christian. I find that the two are very compatible in basic beliefs of the human condition and our relationship with God. Actually, I am finding myself having a stronger relationship with God through my daily yoga practice. I haven't experienced a full KA, but I have felt it rise. It isn't anything to fear. It is a part of our bodies as is our arms and legs in my opinion. I like what the PP said as well.
