What am I doing wrong when I put in zippers?

This is the second zipper I've tried. See how at the ends of the zipper the corners are kind of slanted instead of nice, sharp corners? This happened on the next pouch I made, too. What am I doing wrong?

I trimmed the zippers very close to the seam. I just cannot poke those corners out and it's making me a little nuts.

I think you may have the zipper butting right up against the corner so it is too stiff to turn.
