My DD(5) and DS(2) have the opportunity to be exposed to chicken pox within the next couple of days. My instinct is telling me to go ahead and expose them because I don't know when they would ever get the chance again. (neither of my kids are vaccinated) But I have some concerns and questions. I'm thinking we'd have to go into isolation once exposed. I don't think it's responsible on our part to knowingly expose others without their consent.
-DD is in Kindergarten now. Would you still let her go to school during the incubation time? Should I let her teachers know?
-Right now they both have minor colds. Should I wait until they're pretty much over the colds or since their immune system is heightened right now, would they handle the CP virus better?
-DD seems to handle illnesses very well. DS, on the other hand, seems to have a harder time with them. Should I wait just because of DS's age and health?
-We use a variety of vitamins, herbs, EO, and homeopathy. Did you use anything specific with CP?
I know, alot of questions. And maybe it's just my mom anxiety coming through. I figure if they caught CP without any of our intervention, I'd handle it just like any other illness. I appreciate any personal experiences.
