DH just said this, and it really hit home. Back story: DH, DS and I were vacationing in the Lower 48. DH had to come back a week before us for work.
DS's skills are just EXPLODING. A week ago, he knew all the color words, but would only get them correct about 50% of the time. Some time in the last week, he figured the whole thing out and is now 98% correct (pink and purple still trip him up sometimes
). He had the ability to speak in two- and three-word sentences, but generally didn't (though he somehow mastered use of both the plural and possessive -s suffix before speaking in sentences
). Today he told my husband, "Two black ones!" about one of his toy cars (it has a black sunroof and windshield). DH, having been away from him for a week, pointed out just how marked the difference is.
A week.
