Foramen ovale aneurysm anyone?

Thread Starter
I'm 25 weeks pg with my twins and so far things have been uneventful until yesterday. We had an u/s and one of the babes has a foramen ovale aneurysm. We have an echocardiogram scheduled with a fetal cardiologist next week to make sure there aren't any other issues with the heart. My peri says typically if there aren't any other abnormalities with the heart the foramen ovale aneurysm will correct itself shortly after the child is born.

I wanted to post here bc your babies are already born and I was wondering if any of you have experience with this and if so, did the abnormality correct itself and how has if affected your child?

I've cross posted this in the forums for the other stages bc I'd like to know how this does or does not affect children as they grow.

I have PFO

Hi. If it's of any help to you, I have patent foramen ovale and an arterial septal defect. Had it all my life and I'm in my 40's now. Just wanted to let you know that it's possible to have a lovely normal life even with cardiac deformities which persist.
HTH!
