American Idol 2010 - Page 3

Neil disappointed me. Not nearly as colorful as I know he is capable of.
I agree Barbie64g! Why did he play the bad guy role against Simon? Neil is so funny. He could have been better.

I did not like Avril at all, she seemed pretty immature and didn't have much to add.

That was so weird!

I thought Avril was like having a junior high school girl on the show judging, the way she kept rolling her eyes and laughing at the contestants. I KNOW that a lot of them are over the top bad, but come on, show SOME maturity.

I haven't REALLY loved any of the contestants yet this season (although I didn't see Wednesday's show). I'm hoping to warm up to some of them during Hollywood week.

I really liked the guy with the super curly hair that lived his entire life in the foster care system. I'm rooting for him.

I didn't get to see all of Wednesdays show because my DVR screwed up and cut it off because of Obama's speech.

I'm just so ready to see the good ones up close & personal! I'm not a huge fan of the auditions, I just like to see the ones who actually make it. I'm very excited for Hollywood week this week. There are a few I absolutely love already, although I don't remember their names.

I can't wait for Hollywood! I hate to see really good people crack under the pressure, but it happens. I also dread seeing all of the immature fighting, but it adds to the drama of the show.

Whoever refuses to practice all night almost always gets cut. You think people would realize by now after seeing the show. You are going to have to pull an all-nighter to practice with your team or you guys are going to suck. Yet some people choose to go to bed or party instead of practicing. So funny!

I'm excited to see ellen on Idol!

I knew the girl from Vanor would have trouble. Just thinking about going to Hollywood scares me. You could hear the nerves in her voice but she is a good singer. I feel bad for her but she has a future I think.

I hollywood week! loved the dad who was in the ex-gang family singing "straight up"! can't wait to see group performances tonight!

OMG I LOVED Andrew(?) Garcia signing Straight Up! He is my absolute favorite. Some of the girls seem really good too. I love the blonde waitress whose friend died and Haley(?) Vaughn, the AA country singer! She is amazing! And the pale blue-gray hair girl. She really needs to change that color. But she could sing! Oh, and the blues guitar player who took off his shirt earlier. I loved his voice!

Ellen was pretty funny. She's just so great. I've been bored with Idol the last few seasons. I only watched last season because of Adam Lambert. She's a breath of fresh air on the show.

I missed a lot of it last night, so I'm hoping I can actually sit through tonight's episode and enjoy it.

I think they are all shoo-ins for the top 20. I think they stand out and are different, in a good way.

I honestly can't stand Ellen, but she was ok last night- funny and honest without being totally over the top. I hope it continues that way! I miss Paula!!!

I agree with everything you said 100%, so I'll just ditto! I crack up at every single thing Ellen says, I just absolutely love her on the show. My two favorites are Andrew Garcia and the blonde waitress, anyone know her name? I really like the big burly guy whose wife was in labor, too -- Michael?
I think the waitress is Didi.

Oh, and I couldn't believe that guy was about the miss the birth of his child!! You can do AI any year, but the birth of your child is once in a lifetime! I'd be super pissed at my dh if he even considered that!

I liked the last 2 episodes. I am really disappointed that the bridge jumper from Vanore did so poorly. Honestly, don't they get a few months to prepare? I can understand being nervous, but just do your best because you only get one chance. I hope some record producer goes to help her.

I am mad that Simon commented on the group that did Lady Gaga (the one with the girl with blue hair). He said something about them all being so weird. Yeah, that is a good thing. That is what we are looking for, individuals, not cookie-cutter singers.

Wow, some of the people are amazing. I like the blond dude with long hair.

ETA: I watched it again, and it was actually Ellen that made the comment about the group being weird.
so I've had that Lady Gaga song in my head all day (well, and I've been singing it, and driving DH nuts ).
So far my absolute favorite is Didi Benami, who sang Kara's song. With Crystal Bowersox is a very lose second. There is just something about Didi's voice that sent shivers down my spine.

I didnt get to watch Wednesday night because I was too exhausted to stay up that late. But Hollywood is my favorite part of the show.

I thought they picked the right people for the top 24. I'm pretty excited about this season. All my faves went through. Can't wait to see more from Andrew, Didi, Haley, cute longish-hair blond guy (forgot his name), and Ashley Rodriguez!

I'm super bummed about Chris Golightly being disqualified. He made the top 24 but because he couldn't prove that a previous recording contract had expired they replaced him....by the time he showed them the papers proving his contract expired, they told him it was too late, that he had already be replaced. He was the guy with the super tight blond curls that had spent his life in foster care. I was really rooting for him. Now they are telling him he can't even try out next year because he already "made the top 24"
