Any last minute advice?

I am due this weekend and even though I am pretty sure it will come and go without a baby I was just wondering if you ladies had any thing you wanted to say - anything to look out for, avoid doing, remember to do.... I am planning a UBAC and am very excited, as is my DH (shocker). Even my kids are excited. I just can't believe I may get to catch my own baby. And so soon!

I am so excited for you! No words of wisdom here since I am planning my first HB/UC but just good vibes and happy thoughts!!

have a great time and stay hydrated!

i recommend bija roobois chai. you can make it sun-tea style (just put a whole bunch of the tea bags in the pitcher of water in the sun). it has a nice sweet taste (you can add honey if you like), it has no caffeine, and it naturally rebalances your electrolytes (with or without honey!).

but really, just enjoy yourself!

Hooray! I'm sure you will have a beautiful UBAC! I do have a bit of advice, and don't read it if you're feeling particularly suseptible to negative thoughts of any kind.

I had planned a UBAC in October. Very, very long story short, my uterus ruptured. I lived. My baby lived. And we lived because I listened to my body. You will KNOW if there's something wrong, mama. Please, please listen to that intuition.

That is all. You can read my birth story if you want... I think it's linked in the UC birth stories sticky.

Okay... I guess the birth story is not linked. Just in case you do want to read it, here's the link:

i get my roobois chai (bija brand) at the HFS, but our regular grocer has it in their organic section. it is expensive, though.

also, i make my own. i get plain roobois from a tea shop, add the seasonings that normally go in chai (you can look it up online), and then use that to make the chai (using metal tea balls).

it's great for labor, after sports, or jsut a nice decaf iced tea!

Just the same thing I was told: listen to your gut above all else. If you *feel* something is wrong then get help, if you *feel* it's okay don't give into outward signs or the fears of others. You are the only one who can know, trust that.

Well I asked for advice, and that indeed is very valuable. I know the reality of the situation. I am above all a realist, and that means to me when it comes to birth, to listen to my body and ask for help when needed.
Thank goodness I am not so adverse to the medical world that I would heed all warnings.

I appreciate the confidence and the reminder of the facts of life. Really I do!

i would say that besides 'listen to your body' remember to take it one step at a time (not sure how your other births went)
let each contraction come and when it goes LET IT GO.

also make sure to have yummy stuff in the house and juices and water all ready in the fridge for during / after.

My house is so stocked with goodies that there is no more room for anything else. I have been shopping like crazy because I think having three will be pretty crazy for a while.

And BTW my favorite song right now is the Little Wonders by Rob Thomas- we watch Meet the Robinson's all the time but these words really speak to me. Even if he wrote the song thinking about his dog
