I miss nursing DS more...

Thread Starter
I'm about 3-4 months pregnant and have been nursing DS (13 months) only at night or when he wakes up. Lately, I've been feeling a little sad about not nursing longer.

Have I started weaning him too soon? Since he started solid foods, he hasn't needed to nurse as often... and it was almost natural to fall into the nursing only at night routine.

Should I start up again? Is it even possible?

(I'm not sure this is the right place to post this... but I couldn't find a mommy-led weaning section.)

When my daughter was that age she lost interest during part of the day. She was just too busy. I just started offering more often, or putting us in a quiet, darker room to rock, and she would usually nurse.

I'm going to move this to Breastfeeding Beyond Infancy. You might get more replies there.

Of course, it's possible to nurse more often. Just offer several times during the day and see if he wants to. There is a natural "down-time" of nursing for many children, though, somewhere between 10-15 months where they are just very interested in the world and tend to cut back.

I think it's great that you are still open to nursing your little one while pg!

Good luck w/your continued nursing and PG!!!
