How Much Maca?

Thread Starter
I just got some Maca root powder from my co-op and I'm just wondering how much I should use. I've read anywhere from 1/4 Teaspoon to 1 full Tablespoon.

I plan on starting with 1/4 and working my way up.

For those of you who have used Maca how much do you use.

Thanks

Related Question (sorry for the hijack, but I didn't want to start a new thread): Can I find Maca in my local Whole Foods Store? Will they have it in capsule form there? What about in the Whole Foods section of our local grocery store?

I asked my doctor about it yesterday and she said to ask the pharmacist because she's not sure about the drug interactions w/ my regular meds and herbals.

Should DH take the same amount as me?

Another MACA question - for those of you who take it in powder form, what do you put it in/on to mask the taste?

Whole foods has it in my city, it is in the men's herbs section, near the yohimbe and horny goat weed!! Actually the brand they sell has the root, and the extract (in the same pill), which I find effective for the other nice side effects

Hi ladies,

Here are some general guidelines for traditional application of Maca.

Dosage: General suggested usage is 2000-3000 mg a day. To obtain desired results, maca needs to be taken regularly. There have been no side effects found from taking maca.

Maca is best taken in smoothies, oatmeal or juice. Some people can't stand the taste of it so they choose liquid or capsule form.

If you would like to learn more about Maca go to this link: http://natural-fertility-info.com/maca

Enjoy!

LOL .. sorry. . .I've got one too!

Do you continue to take Maca through your 2WW? (that is of course If I even HAVE a 2WW)

yes, and pregnancy too.

Maca isnt an herb... its a food. What you are taking is the ground up version of it.

It does not put any hormones into your body... but rather supports hormonal balance... which is of course quite beneficial during pregnancy too!

Maca consumption

Hi!

I been using Maca Powder for 3 years and It's is very effective for me. My consumption of Maca powder with the help of my doctor. He advised from 5gr. to 10gr. daily. There is, of course, no maximum limit taking maca but a higher consumption doesn't mean the increase of its nutraceutic action.
(I got it from www.hidalgofoods.com they offer very competitive price in retail store)

hope this would help.
