Any help/ideas (holding pencil/crayon weird)

I've been working with Andrew on tripod grasp with the writing claw for some time. He's doing great. Except...he holds the crayon/pencil pretty much straight up and down. I can't get him to lay at an angle and this makes writing awkward and more difficult (and he keeps stopping and lifting up his crayon because he can't see what he's doing).

I just can't figure out how to fix this.

it is a power point about grips and correcting them

we have the handwriting without tears pencils, and it corrects the problem for my ds. it is very difficult to hold a small pencil incorrectly. all you do is simply sharpen your pencils down to very little pencils. you can also have your ds color with broken crayons (broken into thirds). hth.
