Annoyed with the pamphlets at the peds office.

I took my DD to the pediatrician today for a infected blister. While we were waiting in the exam room we got pretty bored and started looking through pamphlets (she's only 15 months so content didn't matter to her).

Anyway, I looked through the pamphlet for boys going through puberty and was frustrated to see that the only diagram of a penis in it was of a circed penis. Obvious circ scar and everything. They covered doing a testicle exam, but no mention of foreskins or being intact at all. It was really annoying to me.

Anyway, this is a pretty AP friendly practice so I mentioned it to the doctor before we left. Hopefully they'll do something about it.

That's weird though with the official stance of the AAP towards circumcision, isn't it?

Good for you for bringing it up with the docs. Please also write to the company that publishes the pamphlets. Each of us speaking up, or taking that extra step, when we come across things like this, is important for changing things.
