I soaked some oatmeal last night but forgot about my breakfast date that I had today. Will it be ok sitting until out until tomorrow?

I think you can soak it 12-24 hours or maybe more? It will probably be fine, though if you stick it in the fridge that would probably be fine too.

I soak for up to four days then more in the fridge. Particularly with yogurt buttermilk or whey but I've done it fine with vinegar too. It gets a little sou by the 4 th day which I love and do on purpose.

I will soak it with water and some whey out overnight or up to 24 hours then I move to the fridge. This is just what I do though.

Thanks for this post - I've been meaning to ask about soaking oatmeal for a week now! Can someone give more specifics? I will be using vinegar for now since my little one is dairy sensitive still. What is the ratio of vinegar to oatmeal? can i use apple cider vin (bragg's)?

Thanks!

apple cider is great. just a tiny splash. maybe a half tsp for a cup to a couple cups of oats? you don't need much.
