Wow, a flood of responses, thanks!

I have a Canon color all in one inkjet that we'll be keeping because we like the copying feature - it's flat for copying, doesn't run through a feed, which I use for receipts/reimbursements.

I see a Brother mono laser for $85 at Office Depot in the ads this week so I'm headed to check that out as soon as the children go to their dad's today.

I'm getting rid of my dad's old color HP Deskjet to get this b/w laser printer and think the combo will be good for our entire family.

I've been really happy with my Brother laser printer, which I've had for two or three years.
