Who still has Christmas decorations up?

*raises hand*

I like the tradition of taking things down on Epiphany (Jan 6), but I had to go out of town for 2 funerals on Jan 6 to the 10th, and then back at work FT this week. SO, maybe this weekend...

We do. My inlaws came to visit Jan. 7-11, and we wanted to leave the decorations up for their visit since we had another "Christmas morning" while they were here.

I haven't taken them down yet because we're moving into a new house on the first and I just haven't figured out where to pack them. We were not expecting to be moving right now (our landlord just informed us that she isn't renewing our lease because her daughter wants this house), so I'm a bit more concerned with packing everything we own on short notice than the fact we still have xmas decorations out.

We do. In my culture they normally stay up till around the end of Jan. We also decorate right before Xmas though.

We will be taking down the tree today though, just because it's the last week for the city to pick it up for recycling.

I do I do!!!

Normally I manage to get them down around the end of January because I get lazy.

This year we had 2 Christmas celebrations that had to be rescheduled. The last one will be this Saturday. So I figure this year I had a valid reason to leave them all up.

The problem is that we got a new tree and I need to figure out how to re-arrange the garage to fit it in there. Dreading doing it in the cold weather.

I did! We went out of town during New Years which is our normal time to take it down. So we just got it done now.

I do.

I went out of town the 30th-4th then I got lazy. I've gotten the ornaments off the tree but that's as far as I've gotten.

I have x-mas lights strung up around the house, and I plan to leave them up until they burn out (usually sometime over the summer). I love the light they give off. Everything else is down, packed up and stored. I even decluttered some old ornaments when I put everything away!

Insteresting thread. I always take mine down the first weekend after Christmas, but certainly understand that funerals and family obligations take precedence.

I had a girlfriend last year who got into an argument with her husband about who would take the tree down, and out of stubbornness they left it up until June!

I do! Dh's birthday is Jan 13th and we always leave everything up until then.

Probably will come down this weekend. Probably.

We still have our tree up. My DS who is 3yrs just loves it and gets all crazy everytime we discuss taking it down. I just hate throwing out a perfectly nice tree. I know my neighbors must think I'm crazy when they see the lights on thru the window.

My 2.5 year old DS told my mom that I wrecked the Christmas Tree the other day! Then he told her I threw away his tools...Mom asked if they were in his toy box...which they were.

I confess; even though the tree is down, there is one decoration I have had up for 2 years now. One day it will crumble, and only then will I pitch it.
