Ds turned 3 months of Sun and is totally breastfed and AF came back Sat... blah!!! It was back at 6 weeks with dd so I made it a bit longer but still! Not excited about this one at all. My SIL has a 16 month old and still hasn't gotten AF!!!

I started spotting yesterday.
When I saw it, I let go with a string of obscenities which I will not retype here!
Needless to say, I'm very unhappy! I wanted to be one of those mamas who go without AF for months and months.
SIGH!!

She's still on vacation from me. I'm so surprised because DS has been going for 7-8 hours without nursing for a couple of months!

She hasn't come here yet, and I'm hoping she stays away for 16 months like she did after dd's birth. :

I'm reallllly annoyed... we nurse every hour, or two, or three. NEVER more than three hours! Grumblegrumble!

nope. she probably won't return until 18 mos pp like with all my other kids.

Yes last month when he turned 3mos old despite nursing round the clock.

i've had at least 2. i didn't STOP pp bleeding until about 11 wks and then 5 days later got af. i just finished up with her on monday. i've always gotten her back, even with my babies that were healthy and didn't get bottles.

I didn't get my first pp af until ds was 20 months old, but I have PCOS and was 37 when he was born. Am guessing I may go equally as long, but who knows, since dd does not nurse nearly as often at night.

I spotted for one day at exactly 10 weeks and I started spotting today at 12w2d. I am not sure what is going on. It is super minimal. I didn't have this with my other 2. With my first my first ppaf was at about 19mos and with my second it was at 15mos. I just don't want the hassle

i finished pp bleeding at 3 wk pp. then started af at 7 wk pp. then again at 9 wk pp. one spot at 10 wk now nothing since then and at 14wk pp. but i have been cramping like i should have started since i had the spot. this is the first time i have not started the mini pill 6wk pp. i though for sure i was gearing up to be regular and was just waiting for this last period to start before starting the pill. i started getting nervous bc DD2 started STTN (well 6 hr straight) at 2 mo old.

I got my first PPAF on the 7th of January which was also the day my baby was 3 months old. BOO. It is the 14th now and I'm still bleeding. Bridget is EBF and nurses at night. Oh well, I guess I'll embrace it as a way to cleanse every month. The first few days were terrible and the bleeding was heavy. I wouldn't mind if it would go right back to only lasting 4 days but this 7+ days is no fun.

no pp here. lo is 3w5d. bf all-the-time & co-sleep (not sure if it matters, but i thought it may).
Breastfeeding often and long and co-sleeping have never kept my PPAF at bay. I know for some women it does, though. I think my body just wants me to be continually pregnant. Bridget has never had a bottle or a bink and sleeps with me all night long. Interestingly enough, the only time I have had my period stay way for any length of time was with the one I didn't sleep with regualrly. Go figure.

I haven't had a sign of a period yet but I wonder if by using a nipple shield I am at more risk for an earlier return? Does anyone know if that affects things? I'm working on getting rid of it but for now it's a necessity.

I don't think the sheild will cause your period to return any earlier than it would otherwise. As long as the baby is nursing often and your supply is adequate I would be very surprised if the sheild caused an issue.
