i'm surprised the elderly weren't mentioned in this, really.

and yet:

its amazing that they even get away with this! I mean, its there, the information is out there that they don't know if its safe for pregnant/nursing women or moms, yet they are still able to scare parents into getting this vax for themselves/their children! never ceases to amaze me! and the package insert is right there, yet NOBODY seems to know it exists! wow, just wow...

There's too much money invested in the drug companies for politics not to be in bed with them.

Please remember that discussion must remain focused on how this event is related to the general topic of vaccines for this forum. General newsmaker discussion or those veering off into politics will not be hosted so please remain on-topic for the forum. Thanks!!

Obama is saying this about H1N1 huh? Is it because of all the leftover vaccine maybe? It's really scary actually, and I am just waiting for the day when legal exemptions will be taken away and vaccinations will indeed be mandatory

How bout a National Measles week next?

Hmm... no thanks!

Well, it was not a totally well-worded response, but I clicked on the contact me button on the website and sent a comment to President Obama regarding the vaccine proclamation. I whole-heartedly agree that pushing vaccines by declaring a National Vaccine Week is just ridiculous, and is easily a slippery slope for tougher vaccine requirements. I think it is important to keep pushing to end vaccine requirements, and leave such decisions in the hands of individuals.

Ugh, seriously? Didn't h1n1 peak in November or something? I was under the impression we were kind of out of the woods

H1N1 specific discussion should be continued in the existing threads for that purpose as per our forum announcement.

Sorry It was the first thing that came to my mind...

I just don't understand why he's coming out NOW and declaring it a huge deal...again. Didn't it already get declared a national emergency?
