tongue thrust reflex still present at 7.5mths

I never even saw this in my other kids, it was gone by the time they were trying to eat.

DD's doctor noticed she still had it at her 6mth WBV and said that she wasn't ready for solids, but didn't mention a time scale at which she'd be concerned if she still had it. That was 7 weeks ago.

We offer solids, but don't push them and in the past 3ish weeks she's got pretty keen and is very good at getting them to her mouth, but rarely gets them to the back of her mouth. She was trying to feed herself by grabbing my chopsticks today, but as soon as they get to the mouth, out pops that tongue and today she was seeming frustrated by that.

She was a tiny bit early, 37wks by LMP, but I suspect she was 36+3. Had a tongue tie and even once that was snipped needed OT to give us exercises to get her sucking coordinated. So I guess this could still be related to that.

Does anyone have any idea what is still considered normal range for this reflex to go? Also, is it definitely a reflex, I've been asked a few times about solids and I just say her tongue thrust reflex hasn't gone so she doesn't get much, but some people tell me that's a sign that I need to make her practice, which I'm pretty confident isn't the case, but I could use some reassurance!

I don't have a lot of advice, but both of my children were tongue tied never had a problem eating. The both lost their tongue thrust around 5mo without any special "practice"..
