Hi, I have tinnitus (ringing ears) and the ENT I have been seeing thinks it's due to fluid in my inner ears that won't drain. I have been on prednisone, which helped a bit, and also take a lot of Sudafed in the hopes that it will dry up. Over the past 6 months, the ringing went from an all the time thing to a few days a week thing (after the prednisone). Kind of on and off. Then in late November I had an ear infection again, took the antibiotics, and then around Christmas my ears started ringing pretty much all the time again. I have about one day a week where they are not ringing, and sometimes I wake up in the night and it is quiet too.
I am wondering if there is some kind of "alternative" treatment I could get that would encourage my ears to drain? Is there something in acupuncture or chiro or something else that might work?
I feel as though I am on a bit of a time crunch now because there is new research that suggests that once your ears have been ringing for more than 6 weeks, the brain rewires itself to hear it and you pretty much can't get rid of it.
Thanks for any advice or thoughts of what I could try.
