Stuck with doll (dancing rain pattern)

HEEELP.

I ordered my doll with a pre-sewn body because I suck at sewing. I turned it inside out and stuffed it as much as I could. It doesn't look great, but it looks okay. Then I tried to get the head in. WHAT THE HECK, how is this supposed to work?! Even with it pushed in as much as I could get it, it still looks like a misshapen giraffe creature. Anyone have any experience with this? Whine!

I wanted this doll to turn out for Toby's birthday, but I am ready to give up.

Yikes! I have no idea why the neck is so stretched out. The body looks a little squat, but is a different pattern than what I used. When you take the head out, how long does the neck fabric look? Could you post a pattern of that? Is there stuffing in the neck region? What does it look like if you take some of the neck stuffing out, create a cavity in the body for the base of the head to go into, and then fit them together like puzzle pieces?

This. I've made this doll before, and you don't want to completely stuff the body or you'll never get the head on. Take some stuffing out of the top, and use your fingers to make a well that you can jam the neck into. You can also use a chopstick.

my first doll was the My Baby doll kit from DRD (wish she had pre-sewn bodies back then!)... mine is a tiny bit stretched cause i over stuffed the body - you need to make sure to leave enough for the neck to fit in (like the above poster - make a well in the middle around some stuffing)

I think I got it, but man that was a pain in the butt! the neck is still kinda long, but not scary long or deformed, and I can make it look normal.

Thanks for the help mamas. I ended up taking all the stuffing out of the middle, putting the neck in, and then putting a little more stuffing in the belly area. Still, what a pain.
