Hi, I am a newbie here....

Wondering if there is anyone from my neck of the woods on here. We're such a small state and it's been hard finding other parents who feel as I do around here... And there do not seem to be many doctors either. Thank you and am so glad to have found this site!

Hi.  I'm from Bear.  We are looking for a pediatrician or family practitioner.  We have a religious exemption for vaccines.  Our current dr has suddenly become less tolerant of our beliefs.  Also, did anyone see in the news about a possible measles outbreak?

When I saw this thread, I had to stop in.  We just moved to Texas two months ago, but before that I spent all of my first 33 years in Delaware :)  We'll likely be back in about 2-3 years.

My son went to the Nemours Pediatrics office in Middletown, but we did vaccinate so unfortunately I can't help with that part, nichole.  I do have to say that although I wasn't always thrilled with the wait times there, he did get excellent care.  And whenever anything happened, they got us in right away.  They also have a 24/7 nurse line that is great.

I just started taking the kids to Nemours in Mtown, (Dr. Kuhn)  I am loosely following Dr. Sears' schedule and he tells me the recommended schedule, but doesn't pressure when I say what I'm comfortable doing.  We were asked to leave when I wanted to wait on chickpox until kindergarten at appo. ped.

Also, in the old thread Brandywine pediatrics was recommended.  There are a lot of drs in that practice though.  The one that is supposed to be the most understanding is not taking new patients.  I might go with a different one.  Anyone tried them?  I hate to drive an hour just to get another lecture.
