Well we're back in disposables

I give up.

My DS has a new aversion to diaper changes. Really, it's just laying on his back and holding still that's the problem. He just can't do it. He's constantly trying to roll over and crawl away. And when I stop him from rolling over he just flails.

Prefolds are completely out of the question.
I still use my AIOs sometimes, but most of them have snaps which make them more of a battle than disposables.

I'm pretty frustrated. I hope this is a phase and that it will end before he grows out of all his diapers. Especially because I just bought a dozen organic GMD prefolds and a couple new wool covers before all this squirminess started.

Can you try just trifolding the prefolds without using a snappi or pins? I'm not sure if that would bunch up on the cover or not but am thinking about doing it myself since changing my DS is also quite challenging.

My Lo hates the changing table.
She's a woman on the move! She can hold herself up standing against the wall so I put her diaper on while she's vertical. I stil have to lay her down for a good clean wipey but it minimizes both of our frustrations!

It's probably just a phase. My son went through this at about 9 months and it was maddening. I tried mastering the vertical change, but I've never been able to do it with either cloth or disposables. I just kept some disposables on hand and if I couldn't keep him distracted long enough to diaper him (prefold & cover) then I just used a disposable or one of our BG's. As I recall the phase didn't last terribly long and eventually I was able to find different and bizarre ways to distract him when he was super wiggly.

It's just aphase. all kids do that. Give him something to play with so he is distracted. I have to be rather quick with DD too because she rolls over or pushes backwards with her legs. It's a struggle but it wouldn't make me switch back to sposies.

Someone has a video on YouTube of how you can diaper a crawling away baby with a BumGenius AIO. Something to think about.

It's a phase... my 7 month old is going thru it right now. Sadly we can't afford sposies (I SO wish we could...) so I try and bribe him to hold still with graham crackers. I bribe my 21 month old to hold still by letting him play games on my iPhone. Hopefully they outgrow it quickly. I know a lot of moms on here have said they let their babies play with things they aren't usually allowed to play with during diaper changes to keep them from trying to run off.

If your baby rolls over, just snappi the prefold on backwards. it's easier to hold the baby facedown on the bed anyways.

We pretty much stuck to prefolds but around the toddler age I bought about 14 all together deluxe AIOs seconds used for super cheep from a local cloth diapering washing service.. The BEST thing I ever did! I totaly changed standing up.. ME sandy diapers and Dappi pants also worked super well standing.
