Great (if unexpected) health/nutrition resource

We got Eat This, Not That and Eat This, Not That for Kids and I can't tell you how many conversations these books have started. My kids have really gotten into it. They take them along when we go out and they're making healthier choices. The books do an especially good job of pointing out how foods labeled "healthy" or "diet or "natural" aren't necessarily so. The books are really engaging, and I highly recommend this as a painless way to discuss nutrition and health.

This is their website.

Thanks for the heads up! How friendly is it to a traditional foods home?

Probably not at all, LOL! It's really geared towards eating out and stuff.

I am borrowing my gma's copy as I was curious about the book. I was pleasantly surprised and loved the section for feeding kids. I liked their "food pyramid", etc. And, yes, while the resource is aimed at helping people make better choices while out or in the supermarket, I would still find it valuable (not to buy, but to get from the library) for people who eat more traditional foods. It does the supermarket by sections. Information about yogurts and grains etc. It has been very eye opening for me.

Just noticed that there are several editions. My gma had the 2010 edition, just called Eat this not that.

Oh, good! I'll admit we mostly pull it out if we're going on a road trip or something and will be eating out. I just really like how it exposes the "tricks" the food and restaurant industries use to try to get you to think you're making healthy choices.
