Cabbage and garlic - companions?

Are garlic and cabbage ok companions? Pest and size wise. I have space where I grow garlic for something else but it’s the farthest point of the garden. I want to grow something you only harvest and thought cabbage would be great!

I am concerned because the garlic needs to grow up and cabbage can get HUGE. But the garlic will be out by early Aug and the cabbage won’t be that big yet? I am looking to grow a late overwinter variety, which can be 6 – 8 pounds. Last year I grew a smaller Ruby Ball variety and it turned out great.

Rhianna – who is in Oregon zone 8 

I can't find my companion planting book, but from this page it seems like an OK thing to do.

Doesn't mention them together, but interesting list:

On this page it say not good:

Try a small section and see how they both do.
