Hemmorhoids 9 months later?

I STILL have hemorrhoids 9 months PP. What gives? I didn't have them all during pregnancy, it was all that pushing during delivery (I pushed for an hour)

Ugh, so uncomfortable.

I had reallllly bad hemorrhoids for forever after my DD was born. The bleeding kind of hemorrhoids. Sorry I can't remember the time frame. They actually healed at one point and then came back. Ultimately what did it for me was getting a suppository from my Dr. They looked like tiny little bullets.

I don't know if yours are that bad, but sometimes they need help to heal and aren't going to just go away. And internal vs external make a difference.

Good luck. They truly do suck.

I think they're internal...that's where it hurts when I have a BM. And yeah, little bit of blood here too

I think once you have a baby vaginally and get them from the pushing, they are more likely to re-occur. Sorry!

Maybe talk to a doctor about it if you are really concerned.

Like a pp said, mine come and go due to stress and constipation (sorry if TMI). I had my son 11 years ago...

This just makes me so upset...

I have a really bad one from pushing too, and I've been thinking the whole time, that it HAS to get better soon..

Is there no hope for it? Its honestly so bad sometimes it makes me cry when I have a BM.

Think my midwife said mine was internal too, is that worse/better??!?!

Okay, don't want to make you guys freak out...

Yes, after I had DS I thought I would DIE on the toilet!! The pain was worse than actually pushing the baby out!

Mine are internal. I had a colonoscopy a couple of years ago for an unrelated issue. The Dr. saw the internal hemmorhoids I have and said that they aren't bad. My ob said I could have them taken care of if I wanted to.

They really only act up a few times a year. Like I said, stress and constipation. My FIL had hemmorhoid surgery a few years ago. He said the recovery was hell. He is glad he did it now, but wasn't for the first few weeks.

Sorry if TMI. I don't think I know anyone who delivered vaginally who pushed a while who didn't get 'em!

I didnt even push that long, only about 15 min but mine are just awfull.

I think the thing that made it so bad was this though, after my son was out and I was BFing him, MW was examining me and said something to the nurse about 'rectal prolapse'. I had no idea what that was and at the time I did not care because I was so into staring at my newborn.

I looked it up later when I was home though, and its not pretty at all. DH said he saw it happen, but didnt tell me about it because he didnt want to scare me.

Ugh.. PP.. I also tell DH that BM after DS was born was worse than pushing him out!! He doesnt believe me, but its really true!

I also got horrible something after my daughter was born. I assume they are hemmoriods, though I have never had them looked at, and I had never had any before, so I am not 100% sure. However, I think mine are mostly hormonal. I didn't push more than 5-10 min, my girl was tiny. They didn't show up right away after birth, and lasted nine to ten months. Then they went away, all on thier own.

Now that I am pregnant again, I have them back. Some dietary changes have helped a bit. Eating quinoa helps more than almost anything. I have also resorted to Colace every now and then, but I only want to take it when they get really really bad.

They are horrible. I have pain, blood, and I bet hearing me on the toilet is preparing my 3yo for the birth of her sister.

I really am so sorry that ANYONE is going through this. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Technically, hemmorhoids never go away - they may not be inflammed and bothering you but they are always there. I got them with my 1st delivery and I find that they will flare on occasion, sometimes for no real reason.

I have them too- I actually had a bit before I gave birth to my daughter but I pushed for 3 hours and they got much worse. I am now pregnant and getting ready to have a homebirth. My midwife told me to chop up some garlic and sautee it softly in olive oil, then put it in the fridge overnight. It should make a paste. Then you apply it over the area at night. I think she said it might take up to a week to completely work, but it is supposed to shrink them right up.

good luck!

I didn't even have them noticeably after birthing a 10-pounder (but I didn't really push her out).

I got them bad after nursing her from 10 pounds to 20 pounds in less than 6 months, spending a lot of time sitting in a hard rocking chair. And I have not been able to get them to go away with diet, liquids, anything..... bah.
