Help for constant gas/belching?

I need suggestions to help my 10 YO DS. He has spent the last several days belching -- probably 1 once every 5 minutes on average. Its gotten so bad that its stimulating his gag reflex and causing him to vomit, I think. At least, he's also vomiting occasionally but showing no other signs of illness. He always has a bit of a problem but this is over the top.

He's lactose intolerant and we are reasonably good about diet. I need ideas for immediate intervention and longer-term management.

Are you sure it's lactose intolerance and not milk intolerance?
Has he had an increase in lactose-containing things recently, or used more reduced-lactose milk-containing items?
Sounds like a rotten illness. I hope he gets some relief soon.

I wonder if something like Mylecon drops or Gripe Water would help...
