RSVP's and goodies bags for b-day party - WWYD?

DS's 4th b-day party is next weekend and this weekend I was going to go out and buy some things for goodies bag. The RSVP date that I gave everyone that we sent invites to is for this Saturday. Out of the 14 kids we invited, 7 have RSVP'ed.

So, my question is, should I ony buy goodie bags for those that RSVP'ed or buy 10 just in case a couple of more kids show up whose parents didn't RSVP?

WWYD?

If they have til Saturday to RSVP, I would wait to get the stuff til after that date otherwise buy extra, why not.

I would definitely buy extra. It would be unfortunate as a child to feel left out simply because my parent(s) were unable to RSVP.

I usually do enough bags for everyone we invited, whether they've rsvp'd or not. I usually have some leftover stuff, but better than not enough.

DS's 4th b-day is next month.

I plan to get enough for everyone who hasn't declined. I'm still on the planning stage of what to get, but at the point when I need to order things (I was planning to get things online) I will just subtract however many declines I've received from the number I invited. I figure having a couple extra isn't a bad idea anyway (unexpected siblings for instance.) I was even sort of thinking of offering the kids the choice between bug themed and train themed favors, haven't quite decided yet, so then there would have to be a few extra in case more kids wanted train themed than bug themed.

This is what I always do, but tend to have quite a bit left over. What do you do with the leftovers???

I would buy enough for at least 14 kids. Maybe even a couple more in case a sibling or two shows up. Definitely more than 7, though.

I would call the people who haven't RSVPd by the date you specified and ask them if they are coming.

It rained all day on halloween this year, so we had a lot left over. We happen to give out mostly non-candy treats, and this year that happened to be decks of playing cards.

When DS's school did a food drive for a women and children's homeless shelter, I donated the decks of cards to it as well as some food.

I wish I could, but those that haven't rsvp'ed are at DS's preschool and I don't have their phone numbers. The invites were not mailed or anything, just placed in their LO's cubbies.

Buy enough for all 14, IME most folks don't get around to rsvping until the day before or even the day of.
For the ones who call and say sorry can't make it, I'd pack up their treat bag and get it to them somehow, the ones who don't call, don't show, just means extra goodie bags for you kids.
That's how we work it here anyway : )

Stash the leftovers way up in a high cupboard, and dole them out to your kids as treats, or for movie night/friday night, or in their lunchboxes once in a while. Or pick at them yourself....

I give them to the kids at a later date. However, so far we've only invited family friends to our parties. I guess once we start inviting school friends that will change.

Can you ask the preschool teacher or director if you can have the phone numbers of a few folks?

At ds's school they stick the invite in his bookbag... in the pocket we never check So it's possible the parents haven't seen the invite. I know for ds's b-day in October I got a couple calls from parents saying they hadn't seen the invite until a couple days before the party.

I made about 5 or 6 extra bags than the number that RSVP'd yes. We got a couple kids show up that hadn't rsvp's and we had a couple bags leftover. This year the bag had books in it, so I made sure to have a large variety in the extra bags (books that ds didn't have). So the books that were leftover I just gave to ds. There were also a couple other little things in them that are around somewhere....
