crashing from the breastfeeding forrum - saw your post on the new posts page.Exclusively breastfed babies are almost never constipated. Something you ate may have upset her tummy, caused more gas, etc, but when she does poop it will most likely be runny and soft (and therefore not constipation - which results in hard poops like rabbit pellets.)
After 6 weeks their pooping patterns can really change - some go 10-14 days with no poop and then (usually at the most inconvenient time) they have a pooplosion and it goes EVERYWHERE. Keeping an extra change of clothes or 2 handy is useful!

Good luck - hope she feels better soon.

I agree about the change in timing. That might have been around when DS went to pooping every couple of days and then eventually every 4. And yes, EBF babies don't get constipated but they can get gas. If you find that she's kicking her legs up and seems uncomfortable, my DS seemed comforted when I did gentle bicycles with his legs while on his back. That helps move gas out.
Also, if she IS gassing, say when you change her, I used to gently but firmly push DS's legs back on to his hips/tummy and more gas would come out.
Hope she feels better soon

At 2.5 months my ds had a sudden change in pooping frequency that caused me to post. Went from 3-4 times a day to 1 every 2 days. Just last week he's suddenly upped his frequency to 3-5 times a day and he's almost 4 months now. A little disconcerting every time a change happens (because it's always so sudden) but his mood and consistency of the poops usually settle my mind.
