Pneumonia-but not that sick?

Help!

Starting a week ago I started feeling REALLY tired, then achy, then headaches/sinus pressure. I still have nausea (but never did vomit or have a fever), sore throat and on and off headaches. I feel like it is harder to breathe since I have gotten sick (like I have anxiety) but I have more energy today and even cleaned the house.

Should I be worried that I am pneumonia and go to the doctor? I am taking big doses of vitamin D now.
Anyting else?

personally I would give it 10-14 days with no improvement b4 i went to a MD. I would however consult my ND now to see about additional supplements to take to help speed recovery

Maybe extra zinc? For short time periods, I think you can take quite a bit, maybe 30 or 50 mg, but spread throughout the day (and definitely after food). Picolinate or citrate.

Are you taking extra vitC? That's been helpful with us, I give it to the kids to their bowel tolerance, which jumps a lot higher when they're sick.

The kids and I like Aviva Romm's garlic lemonade when we're sick too, it's wonderful warm.

I've read of, but not yet tried, the wet sock treatment, it's supposed to jumpstart healing.

If you have anybody who can do structural work, a chiro or someone who does CST, or an acupuncturist even (though it's different) it seems like a good time for a visit.

More energy seems like a good improvement, but I'd really try not to push it, yk? Maybe rest a bit more than you think you have to, take it easy a bit extra. If you _are_ on the mend already, well, I've had a few occasions that I thought I was getting better and started doing too much and relapsed and that's a bummer all around, really drags out the whole process.

Hope you feel better soon!

I would try heating up water then putting a towel over my head over the water. It can help with breathing issues.

Give yourself time to heal - drink a lot of fluids ( will also thin secretions). I seriously doubt you have pneumonia since I have had it and so has DH and we were both sick as a dog ( I thought I was dying - REALLY). Feel better soon!

I had pneumonia last February (and I have asthma) so maybe it is different but after a fever of 5 days (103+) and decreasing breathing ability I went on an antibiotic. I felt much better in 24 hours. I don't know if this is true either but I figured a virus fever would much more likely have left after 3 days so I felt I was in the realm of something bacterial and it turned out I was.

Yeah, pneumonia usually has a high fever. I wouldn't be worried about that quite yet.

It's possible you have swine flu, although that should have a fever too. "If" it's swine flu, just watch the breathing. If it gets really bad, go to the doc ASAP. But otherwise, just your regular TLC will help you through it.

Hope you feel better soon.

Just wanted to add that mycoplasma pneumonia, or walking pneumonia doesn't present the same as classic pneumonia. There might be no fever at all, and symptoms are similar to a cold, but the coughing is worse/more frequent.
