... or did everyone give up on it for good after the last rather dismal season?

I taped it! Can't wait to watch it.

Wait - did I really just say "taped"? as in VCR? Uggg, how old am I? I should have said I DVRed it

I have not seen it online yet. I don't live in the states so I have to find it online. I was not thrilled with the last season, but I am not ready to give up yet.

I liked a lot of the pieces they showed from the new contestant's portfolios, and I did like the winning pieces in the first challenge, but I'm not really wowed out of the gate. I guess we'll see.

I gave up ON last season, but watched the premiere last night. I'm hoping that since this season the show is back in New York it will help bring the . . . spark back, I suppose. At the very least, I understand that Nina Garcia (and Michael Kors, but eh) plays a more prominent role again this season, unlike the last go-round.

(Side note: I actually just had to Google who the winner of the last season was. Sorry, Whatshername!)

I watched it but I am not too impressed. I did not watch last year at all.

I loved the top 2 but the #3 I don't get. I also thought the person who went home was not that bad at all.

I'm watching. I think this season will be better than last. I think they realized that last season was boring. I'm glad they're back in NY.

I won't spoil but I gotta say that I couldn't believe a certain someone was in the top 3 favorites last night!!!! The outfit was beyond horrible!

Yep, I'm sure the other contestants didn't know why it was top 3 either. I think the guest judge had a lot to do with it. She would wear it after all.

where are you watching online?
I watched last season at realitytv.org but this season is not up yet.

I'm not sure why last season was so bad...I've all the seasons and I don't think I noticed anything different last season.

As for last night...all I have to say is for real? I understand that the person who got booted had a crappy hem, but at least she SEWED something. WTF was with just draping cloth overyourself...and they freakin loved it...I just don't get it. She looked like a homeless person. She stayed purely for the freaky element not for design...you put that outfit on the red carpet and you are on the worst dressed list.

I liked the one everyone here seems to have hated. It definitely wasn't going for red carpet ready wear, though, and I really have no idea what was up with the guest judge saying she'd wear it ... it was clearly aiming to be more art piece than wearable fashion. I am curious to see what that designer will do with more specific challenges than just "here's some fabric ... do whatever you want."

I found it!!!
I thought Ping did OK. The challenge was to show who you are as a designer, that is who she is. Does not mean we have to like it.

I watched models of the runway last season, but could not get into it...

I didn't like Ping's at all but, I agree, the challenge was to show your point of view as a designer and she did.

The one that went home - that was just a generic, poorly sewn dress that didn't say anything.

I'm watching it, hoping for a better season. I agree that it is better they are back in New York. Everyone seems much more comfortable there.

Last night's episode - I did not agree with the winner or loser at all. I can't remember everyone's names, but I liked the girl who dip-dyed the skirt with the open back. And I'm sorry, it's nice to have some freak-factor on the show, but Ping's showing was unexcusably bad. I can't believe she stayed and that nice girl got booted. What a shame.

I loved the idea of this week's challenge. It was really neat to see what the designers came up with. Most went above and beyond what I expected. Most of them didn't even look like burlap. I was amazed.

I can't even remember who went home but I thought it should have been Ping. I mean, the model's butt was hanging out and the dress looked poorly finished.

Her model threw her under the bus though. Way to be supportive.

Even I can't defend Ping this week ...

Ping's dress was horrible, but so was the one that went home. And the designer was a boring "character" for the show, which is why, I'd imagine, that when it came down to the two of them, the judges sent home the boring lady and kept the wacky lady. Ping was also in the top three last week (even though it was a controversial placement), so i think it made sense to keep her.

I loved Thursday's episode - I felt like PR is really back....

While I was watching the runway I thought for sure Ping was gone... but when they were judging I thought it was going to be Jesus....

Subbing - but I still need to see the last half of the second episode so I'm being really careful not to read this thread yet.
