Tandem bf'ing a 9mnth old + 3 y/o + I'm Pg

Hello Ladies,

Has anyone lived through this? I am newly pg with #3, DS just turned 9 months, so it was a shock since it took 21mnths to get pg with him. DD is 3 and nurses as often as DS. I bf'ed DD all through DS's pg with no complications in supply or anything else. DS eats like a little hog, solids and breast milk. We have never used bottles or soothers, and don't intend to. I can find a ton of info on bf'ing one baby during a pg, then tandem feeding, but nada on tandem feeding WHILE being pg again. Anyone have any advice? I am 5'7 maybe 120lbs soaking wet, VERY active, devout Veggie eater, and drink 2-4 gallons of water a day. How many calories should I be comsuming, and so on? I feel like I am in unchartered waters with this situation, LOL.

Wow, double tandem! I'm sure if someone has done it before, they've done it here on MDC. I wish I had more actual information for you -- just keep up your calories. I do know that if your body needs nutrients for breastfeeding or pregnancy, it will pull them out of your own reserves, so really focus on eating nutrient-dense food. Do you have a midwife? I bet she would be a good source of information.
I'm sure someone else with more first hand knowledge will chime in soon!
