monthly support for moms - can i pick your brains a bit?

i lead monthly circles for mothers at a holistic education center and i'm trying to refocus them a bit so that they are relevant/useful to all moms.

i have been a sahm for a number of years. for the last couple of yeas i have also worked out of my home as a writer and leading events nights and weekends, but i have not had the experience of being a full time woh parent and i want to make sure what i am offering is relevant to all moms.

just wondering if any of you who woh or are full time students could share a little bit about what would be useful for you.

i don't think i can link to my event to show you how i am advertising it but it essentially a relaxing evening out for moms. i lead guided meditation/relaxation, we do some journal writing, drink tea and eat chocolate and then have a sharing circle where people speak (if they choose) about whatever is in their hearts and on their minds.

if you were going to attend something like this, can you tell me what things might happen there that would help you to feel supported.

thanks so much!!

I think an opportunity to share with other mothers what my day is like and how I feel is invaluable.

Will you provide free or fee based childcare?

it's not an option at my current venue, plus it takes place late at night (7:30-9 p.m.) so i don't think too many mamas would want to bring their kids along.

i have a good friend who is offering yoga classes for moms with on-site childcare so down the road i may be able to build on what she is doing.

i agree. and that's just what i try to do with our sharing circle. there is no "cross-talk"....just time and space for each woman to speak about what's on her mind and in her heart.

You should bring your program to Houston.
