Do I really NEED a breast pump? - Page 2

Get the $35 Harmony hand pump. It's great. I have it and use it more than the electric pump I have on loan.

It really is nice to be able to pump and get a bottle for another to feed your LO either to go on a date or be able to be out.

I thought I'd never need a pump. I never planned to be away from ds, I work pt but he is in my classroom so no need to introduce a bottle or anything.

My cousin gave me a PIS and I am so glad. Ds refuses to nurse when we're out and about or on road trips, so I pump. I keep a small freezer stash. And, most importantly, I had to leave him overnight to attend a (very) out of town funeral and was able to pump every 2-3 hours while I was gone to keep my supply moving and shaking.

While a PIS could be total overkill for you (and it is a $250 pump), I'm a fan of having some kind of pump on hand, just in case.
