Question about fused placenta

So I found a doctor that will allow a vaginal delivery if both twins are vertex. I think that is as good as I'm gonna get. But I forgot to ask him and I feel silly for even having to ask at all but how does it work when the placenta is fused together? The first twin delivers and the cord is cut then the rest is still hanging out . So what happening next? Does the other twin deliver with the cord from the firsts still in the birth canal? The placenta from the first can't detach first because they are together. After having 3 children already this seems so silly to ask but I've been thinking about it now since last night and I can't picture it. Oh and I know for cetain (from 2 ultrasounds now) they are fused into one big massive placenta.
Thanks!

My placentas were fused together and baby A's placenta still detached and tried to come out before baby B was born. (They probably both detached somewhat before they were both born.) We did not know they were fused until after the birth. My midwife actually had to pull A's placenta out because it had slipped down beside B's head and I wasn't able to push her out because it was in the way. Their entire birth was a whirlwind 5 minutes. It all happened so fast; there was a lot of blood and everything turned out fine but it could have been much worse had Baby B not been right on the heels of her sister.

Well...I didn't even know mine were fused until I delivered them. I think...and am pretty sure that baby A's cord just hung out while they delivered baby B. Then even after baby B was born...the placenta did not want to come out...it took quite a while, but it did finally all come out. Everyone was all commenting on how big it was. I'm like "yes let's just sit and make fun of my placenta". Well anyway, it was pretty massive and they sent it to the lab to find out for sure if it was one or two and it did turn out that it was two that had fused. So, of course we still don't know if they are identical or not...great

Mine were fused. Baby A came out, we waited until the cord was done pulsing, and the clamped and cut. Then Baby B came came out (the cord was coming out of my vagina from baby A, which was not an issue at all), and again we waited for the cord to stop pulsing. Then the placenta came.

I maybe bled one cup altogether...possibly less. Not an issue at all.

It was the exact same for me, except we were at home so no lab. But it was weird having at first one then two cords hanging out, and finally, having the midwife, doula and assistants all peering at this huge placenta. Trying to piece together how the babes were housed. And DNA test later showed mine are MZ!
