mommy's shadow

Ok, I get it that kids are really into mimicking what they see...but holy crow! I now have 'help' whenever I try to wash dishes (ds drags a chair from the table to the sink, positions it just so, and demands to 'help dish'), sweep the floor (as soon as I put the broom back, he grabs it), and probably the most bizarre of all: eat a salad. Ds looooooves eating salad with me, lettuce and all! Of course, he needs 'dip' on it (ranch dressing).

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be hiding my salad from an almost-two year old.

Anyone else care to share their cute (but also sometimes dreadfully annoying) helpers' stories?

My DS (21 months) also insists on helping with the dishes, tries with all his might to reach the spoon I use to stir food on the stove, "helps" hold the coffee pot while I fill it with water and pour it into the machine, he then closes the lid and presses the start button, throws any garbage (paper, stray leaf) he finds into the garbage can, grabs a napkin to wipe up any mess on the table or floor, and he LOOOOVES to vaccum. He also sweeps up any food that falls on the floor during his meal. This kid is such a neat freak it boggles my mind! I once kept him occupied by getting him to spoon sugar from the cannister to the sugar bowl - he loved it

The other day, I made some hot chocolate. I leaned against the counter, took a sip and said "Mmmm." DD walked over to where I was, leaned on the cabinet, and sipped her hot chocolate and said, "Mmmm." So cute!
Also, she'll find the tiniest fuzzy and insist on putting it in the trash. Oh, and she wants to wear my bras.
