KL0 really all that?

I'm thinking ahead for the new baby and I've heard such good thinks about the Kissaluves size 0. With my last baby I had yellow edge prefolds from GMD but my baby was so small he just swam in them. Even now at 18 months he still fits in them. So I was thinking of splurging on a dozen orange edge prefolds and then a dozen KL0. Crazy or a good idea? Any better suggestions? I just remember poo leaking all over those prefolds when DS2 was tiny and think fitteds would work better.

I like newborn fitteds for keeping poo in, especially when leaving the house, but KL0s aren't that great. I had some for my second, and even for a newborn I wished they were more absorbent. They weren't terrible, but not something I would spend money on again. I prefered our Muttaqin and Blueberry nb fitteds. Motherease sandies xs weren't bad either.

I heard that, too, but supposedly the newer version are twice as absorbent.

ETA: I see GMD makes fitteds, too... Hmmm....

I say just get the GMD fitteds made from the prefolds and orange edge prefolds. KL0 are overrated.

With both my kids, I believed KL0 really were all that...but only during the first three weeks. They have a really fantastic fit and poop containment, but they aren't very absorbent and both times I got to where I preferred prefolds once I made the adjustment to being a mom. Still, for the first three weeks...FANTASTIC! Dh loves them.

Another vote for good poo containment (we never had a leak), but my ds2 saturated these very quickly. We always had to use a doubler.

I just checked the site and the new ones do look better, more like the blueberry nb fitteds we had. I wouldn't spend full price, but they might be nice.

I really liked them. We couldn't use them at first (DS was too small at 4 1/2 lbs) but used them for a long time once he started fitting (around 6 lbs or so maybe?) Great at containing poop, soft and fluffy, and I thought they held a lot of pee.

They were great the first few weeks when I was changing his diaper all the time because of how often DS2 pooped, but now that he doesn't as much I find I still have to change him all the time because of how wet they get. I prefer prefolds.

I realized last week that Sears sells these.. but I only found the lemon?

I loved Motherease Sandys XS. The resale is excellent for these also so even though they are not in these very long you can recoup half of your money!

Not a fan of the KLOs here. Too ruffly, I don't like snaps on a tiny baby, and not absorbent enough at all. We were very happy with the bumgenius xs bamboo fitteds, though they were *very* tiny and didn't fit long. The size smalls (8-16 pounds) are on clearance now for $6.50 each: http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_...roducts_id=895.

I used them with my last baby and I really liked them. I'm expecting again and I'm trying to figure out if I'll do them again with this baby.

I found the KL0's to be quite large on my guy when he was a newborn (7 lbs 2 oz at birth). I also found infant pfs to be huge too. I'm not really sure what I want to do for the next LO. I find the sizing on Diaper Rite pfs to be interesting: http://www.diaperjunction.com/diaper-rite-prefolds.html. On Diaper Swappers, this tutorial looks interesting if you can sew a bit and want to convert pfs to a fitted-style: http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...hlight=prefold.

I loved them for my DD, and even ended up getting a dozen KL size 1... I am intrigued by the new, more absorbent ones. We used a doubler much of the time starting at about 8 weeks or so.

Things I loved: fit, great at keeping poop from leaking, soft, easy to use, very durable.

Me too. I ordered a couple of new ones to see if I see much difference between the old and the new.. I agree the old weren't very absorbant- soft though.

I LOVED the KL0 when my baby was a newborn. She wore the KL without a cover until her umbilical stump fell off and her belly button healed (within the first 8 days), after which they were paired with a Thirsties xsmall cover or Bummis cover. The KL0 were the only diaper that didn't touch and irritate her stump (hence the no-cover, even the dipes with the cutout caught and bloodied her stump/belly button). I just got my these back from a friend who used them with her newborn, and they are still soft and look barely used. Looking at them *almost* makes me ready for #2! I really do think this diaper is "all that" for newborns!
