Laundry Mountain!

So with 10 moves in 10 years I have to say that we don't always unpack all our boxes.... add to this three kids growing into and out of cloths we just add more boxes of too small and too big. Combine this with a pregnancy not going smooth for me and I am behind on laundry.

My husband solution, take all the dirty cloths and all the cloths boxes of too small and too big and put them in a huge pile in the dinning room forcing us to deal with this issue. Of course that huge mountain now has to be washed and sorted and yes too smalls back into boxes (but on Monday we should find out if this baby is a boy or girl so some of those boxes will then be donated! )

Just such a mission now and I feel like I will be under this mountain for the next week!! At least my BP is better now! DH says after we are done with the mountain we need to attack the closets and dressers to weed them of too small too big.

Should we do that while things are washing you think rather than trying to cram more into those places and sort more after?

If you are planning on DONATING the too small clothes, I would sort now.. I buy lots of used stuff, and I think most people know to wash them before wearing them.. as long as they aren't too visibly dirty- if it is just storage issues, then that's the way I'd go.. if you plan on giving them to someone you know or reselling them, then yeah, you would HAVE to wash them first..

A friend of mine is HORRIBLE about laundry (and really, little excuses, she doesn't have kids and it is JUST her at home). When there gets to be a mountain of laundry sometimes she will truck it to the local laundry mat and have them wash it for her.. they charge by the pound. I don't know the fee, but it might help you get out from under..

Thanks for the idea! I think I will see how far we get on this over the weekend and then figure out if I should take the rest to the laundry mat and use a bunch of washers and dryers that way and have it all done fast. At least by Monday I will know of the boy cloths are getting donated or the girl cloths.
