Two early babies and then #3 comes late?

Anyone have two early babies and then go to or even past her due date with baby #3? My first baby was born at 34 weeks (PROM), and my second baby was born a couple of days before 38 weeks. Tomorrow is 38 weeks with baby #3, and no signs whatsoever that labor is imminent. I know that is totally normal for a lot of women, but for some reason, I thought subsequent babies tended to come earlier. I am not planning to be induced. I just hope I don't end up with a super long labor with #3!

That would be me. Both of my girls came at 38 weeks, DS decided to hang out until 40w5d. It felt like forever! I know it isn't that long but it was 2+ weeks longer then I had ever been pg before! My labor wasn't long with him, 4.5 hours but honestly I would of preferred a longer one, it just happened too quick.

I feel your pain! Ds and dd were born at 38 weeks. I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow with #3 and I don't feel like this baby is coming any time soon. Absolutely zero signs.

Oh no! I just started eating pineapple today and upping my red raspberry leaf tea consumption, but nothing! I think this one may hang out another couple of weeks too!

my first came at 39 weeks, 2nd i was induced at 41 weeks.. not sure about #3 yet, but i'm fully expecting to go to 42 weeks it was hard expecting 39 wks or earlier last time with the whole '2nd babies come earlier' thing..

I have wondered about this as well. My first two came at 38 weeks (38w1d and 38w5 days) so I sort of have in my head that whenever we have a 3rd, that one will be early too. I KNOW that isn't necessarily the case but I can totally see myself feeling "late" at 39 weeks!

DD was born @ 34W5D
DS1 was 39W5D
DS2 was 41W2d

Also, to boot, DS2 was my longest labor at 10.5 hours. I have to qualify that by saying that ALL my labors started with ROM, then contrax. The difference was that I went directly to hospital with the first two, and with the third, I stayed home and went to bed and let labor progress in its own time, instead of the hospital sense of urgency. A much calmer experience, even though it was longer.

But I TOTALLY expected DS2 to arrive before his due date. I was completely unprepared for a bonus week and a half of pregnancy.

ME! ME! It's quite odd to go the other direction, but I did too. DS was 35wks. gestation, DD1 38wks, and DD2 40wks 5days. Don't worry mama, baby will come when baby is ready. Just keep reminding yourself that everyday he/she's in there, he/she's making better lungs, better organs and sucking reflexes, amongst others too.

I know it's not a bad thing for her to stay in a bit longer. For the past three nights, I have had contrax that HURT from about 3 am to 6 am that were 10 min. apart and then they just stop completely. Ugh!!!

The other thing I hate about going past my due date is that I don't want to get any pressure to be induced. Ugh! And I am also getting tired of the constant, "Oh, I'll bet it's going to happen today," comments. Grrrr!!!!

I hear ya! My first came at 37 weeks on the dot, second at 39 weeks on the dot. I am 38w4d with #3 now, and feel like a ticking time bomb with people asking (including DH!). I have this feeling that this one is waiting till at least 39 weeks, if not 40 to come out. It is getting hard to be patient!

My first was born at 37 weeks, second at 37 weeks 3 days, and my third was just 4 days before my due date. I was sure I was going to have another 37-weekish baby. : #4 was 38 weeks I think, though I stopped counting at some point because I was laboring off and on for weeks.

My babies were born at 34 weeks, 39 weeks, and 43 weeks. The first and third were induced. Dates were sure on all pregnancies.

My last 2 were both born 4 days early........I am now due with #3 in May. For some reason right since conception I have had a gut feeling that this baby is going to come late. We shall see! Interesting reading about everyone elses experiences!

Goodness! I'm still hanging in there with 39 weeks coming on Saturday. I even walked/jogged 5 miles yesterday and nothing!! I haven't even had contrax beyond some Braxton-Hicks the past few days. My midwife offered to sweep my membranes yesterday, but I turned her down. I am giving birth in a hospital, and even though I know I have some time, I really am starting to get nervous that they might start talking induction at next week's appt. as I get close to 40 weeks.

Dd1 - 6 days early, then 4 years later...

dd2 - 6 days early, then 2.75 years later...

dd3 - 11 days LATE - so to me, about 17 days after I expected to have a baby!

But late pregnancy didn't bother me, and I kind of liked all the "you're still pregnant???" comments. Was fun to freak people out - "but WHY doesn't you doctor induce you??" - "I don't have a doctor; I see a midwife" - "isn't she going to INDUCE you???" - "nope, baby is still cooking"

However, dd3 was in a less than optimal position which I think led to the extra time in utero.

my experience was the opposite! my first came a week before my EDD, my second and third 2+ weeks later than my EDD. the hardest part was having my midwives tell me that i should be ready even earlier for my second, so i felt like i was waiting for over a month, wondering why i wasn't going into labor, and then when the days turned to weeks just feeling totally exhausted. i learned from that experience to have no set time line in my head, no expectations. when i went over with my third i was ready for it. knit a ton..of course it was hard to wait, but i knew that she would come at the right time for her.
