To start with - to give this context, my little guy eats donor milk at the breast with the help of a Lact-Aid. I know how much he eats each day because it's measured. I have to thaw out the proper amount every day for him.
For the last 3 months we've been doing fine. He eats roughly 4 oz at a feeding, with the occasional 6 oz feeding if he had a long nap. Then last week he hit a growth spurt and he ate 3 days worth of milk in 2. I know in 2 hours time he chowed down 12 oz of milk one day. But after those 2 days he seemed to slow back down. But he hasn't really gotten back to his old pattern - in fact I nursed him tonight, gave him about 4 1/2 oz, and half an hour later he was fussing and fussing and then screaming wanting more. He ate another 6 oz before finally falling asleep. But when I went into the fridge to get that last 4 oz, I looked and realized that his jug with today's milk in it (quart jug) is still full. Completely full. That jug should be at least half empty by bedtime.
What's going on? His needs can't have dropped that drastically.
