Natural remedies for possible ear infection?

We're trying to avoid antibiotics, but DH has what seems to be an ear infection... not sure what to do to treat it, but I'm going to WF tomorrow and can pick up anything I need.

For DS, massaging around his ear worked best at relieving the pain. Circles in front of the ear (at the flap in the front of the ear) and long strokes behind the ear, even past the dip behind the earlobe, down to the collarbone.

I _think_ tugging up on the top of the ear, for adults, also helps the eustachian tubes drain. For babies/toddlers, it's pulling down on the ear lobe, and the DO said that older kids/adults are the opposite, so that's my understanding.

For other infections, lots of vitamin C has helped me.

Hope he feels better soon.

I think for him it would be pull back and up to open. He should be able to mess around and figure out what feels like it's opening the ear. We also massage down (above and down through the neck) along the side in front of the ear and behind to try to drain. Most ear infections will clear up (pain/fever) on their own in 48 hours or so.

If he has a fever, let it do its thing. Don't take tylenol or the like.

At a health food store, buy kali muriaticum (sp) and garlic oil drops.

Kale, three times a day and grlic int he ear three times a day.

This is what we used with our son and his ear infection was GONE in less than 48 hours.
