Hi,
I'm planning to use the Hypnobabies home study program to prepare for my hospital delivery, and I also plan to hire a doula I liked who is trained in Hypnobabies. So far so good. However, it turns out my midwife (CNM), who will be my birth attendant in the hospital, is trained in Hypnobirthing. Does this difference in methodology matter? I've heard that there's been some tension between practitioners of these two methods, and I want to keep things peaceful during labor.
Should I really look into changing midwives? The other midwife/OB options I have would be folks with no background in hypnosis. Isn't it better to have a midwife with hypnosis training even if it is a different method? Those who have used both Hypnobirthing and Hypnobabies perhaps would have an idea? Will the difference between the two methods create confusion or conflict during birth?
Thanks!
