I hae a huge amount of milk for some unfathomable reason. IYO could I start pumping and storing?

Well if you do that then your milk will come all the way in and the colostrum will not be there for the newborn. I personally wouldnt be comfy pumping for that reason before your baby is born.

I doubt pumping would bring in your mature milk - it's the progesterone surge triggered by placental detachment that sets the colostrum --> milk transition going.

But nipple stimulation can bring on contractions (may or may not be a good thing depending on your situation). Also early removal of large amounts of milk may contribute to oversupply, which can cause lots of other problems (fussy newborn, green poo, clogged ducts, mastitis, etc.)
