My dd is 3, will be 4 in May. She's never been to any type of school, unless you want to count O.T, she went 1x/week for a year. I wanted to homeschool her, but she does not listen to me, at all.. and I think she would respond better to somebody else other than me
She is gifted; although I'm not sure if that's due to the high probability that she has Aspergers. Her concentration span is extremely short..and she is a visual learner. She HATES writing, and throws tantums if I try to get her to practice. She likes to draw circles, that is IT. She likes starfall.com.. and youtube videos' of babies, dogs, cats, being born * it's her obsession, love.. so I don't care if some think it's inappropriate, it's what she loves* She is a sensory seeker, and she is a handful. We also stopped having her vaccinated at 12 months,so I dont' want to deal with the school system giving me crap. I do think she would maybe benefit from a structured environment like school though. We don't have extra money, but I wonder if a montissory (sp) would be better.. although I have decided I will pull her out of school if she has too much difficulty. Any suggestions anyone? Maybe I'm just too overprotective, but I don't want teachers to assume her behavior is on purpose, If she goes to school, I want to make sure the teacher will give hugs and love her. I also want them to call me if she wants me. What do I do? Any suggestions?
