Has anybody else heard about this?

Lionsgate 'Expecting' feature adaptation

Lionsgate is coming on board "What To Expect When You're Expecting," acquiring feature rights to Heidi Murkoff's bestseller from Phoenix Pictures and signing Heather Hach to adapt it as a romantic comedy. Read the rest.

Would you go see it?

Ummm...no. If it's anything like the book, I'd be cursing & throwing things at the screen.

Sounds like they want to "debunk" the success of The Business of Being Born.

How bizarre. So it'll be a movie about worried, anxious pregnant women? Pregnant women being scolded for eating the wrong things?

hmm....I think Lion's Gate (I know the brand is Lionsgate, but I grew up around Lion's Gate, and using the brand gets on my nerves) used to do a lot of cheap horror films. I guess they're getting back to their roots.

I don't get it....is it a documentary or a movie? If it's a movie, why has the author stooped to this level? Aren't most OBs even anti-hollywood movie birth stories? What's the point, it's the opposite of her book (or what her book is trying to be)

I may see it, just so I can pass a judgement on it when someone asks, but I"m sure I'll be cussing and wanting to throw things at the screen too.

It's not in theaters yet--I'm not sure it's even been filmed yet. The article just talks about plans to make the movie.

I can see myself doing this. I can't even watch a half-hour of A Baby Story, sitting through two hours of What to Expect wouldn't be good for my blood pressure. Maybe I could rent it and watch it in small segments.
