Annemarie. Do you think it's better as:

Annemarie

OR

Anne-Marie?

There's something about the hyphen that I like, but I also like the first way. Please tell me which you prefer and why. TIA!

I like without the hyphen... Looks almost regal.

Without the hyphen. And, by the way, I LOVE the name!!

I'd go for no hyphen

No hyphen. Love it

Anne Marie is the perfect name for a Southern belle. We all have the double name kind of thing. Our mamas and everyone uses them, too.... not just when we are in trouble.

Other examples of this...

"John Luke come to Mama."

"Nancy Lee, bring that right over!"

"Olive Francis, be careful with the puppy."

With the hyphen.

No hyphen.

I prefer the hyphen. Without the hyphen it is harder to read for some reason

No hyphen but with a space between the two.

I have a 16 year old cousin named Annemarie. We all love her name, so I vote no hyphen, one word.

I definitely prefer it without the hyphen. I like it both as one word or as two words with a space. I can't imagine what a hassle it would be to have to spell my name for people and tell them every time to put a hyphen in there.

Thank you guys!

I had liked Annemarie from the start, but just the other day it occurred to me that the hyphen (Anne-Marie) was somehow more feminine. (???) I'm over it now, I think I agree with the consensus: no hyphen.

But now I'm intrigued by this new idea of separating the names, ala Anne Marie. Definitely something to think about! Only thing is I'm afraid people would call her just Anne that way. Which is fine, it's a great name but we want her to be called "Anne Marie"....

LOL yup we love the Southern thing w/ the double-name. Also, it's a Catholic thing too: first name either preceded by Mary or followed by Marie, and called by both names. You get two saints for the price of one that way!

If you want her called by both names, I'd go by Annemarie. Very pretty. And congrats!

The only problem with that is that you have to pick another name as a "middle" name. If you leave it Anne Marie..... it is very simple and fits into forms nicely.

Go with Annemarie if you want her called by both names. Annemarie is a great name!
