Say Yes the the Dress??

Is it wrong that someone like myself who has never even owned a wedding dress loves this show? I can't even imagine spending that kind of money on much of anything, let alone a dress (!), but I really like this show. Am I alone in this strange fanclub?

I've never worn a traditional wedding dress but I like that show, too.

My mom made my dress for $160, which would make the staff of Kleinfeld's faint. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this show. We don't have cable, so I make my mom tape it for me.

I LOVE this show! But I can NOT believe how much these women pay for there wedding dresses. How about the women who come in and don't even have a budget?!

Yeah, the budget thing blows my mind. I just couldn't justify spending so much money for something I'll wear once.

I like it too, but more for the coworker dynamics than the actual dresses and brides. I never wore a wedding dress either, and I've had 2 weddings (to the same dude).

I find the family dynamics to be fascinating! I find myself getting really annoyed with the mothers-of-the-brides, which is probably why I skipped a wedding Yes, the co-worker dynamics are great, too. I just *love* Randy and Keesha (sp?)! I would be prob. their most difficult client because I would have no idea what I did want, only what I thought was ugly

I saw one episode where the bride couldn't decide on a single gown, and it turned out her mom had recently passed away and the bride just couldn't envision the process without her mom. Her fiance had thought that shopping for a dress would help give her a focus. It actually made me get all teary

I'm so glad I'm not alone in my love for a wedding dress show. And to think I was TV-free for so many years-----just look at what I was missing

I like that show. But I hate the selfish mothers/sisters/so called friends who push their own ideas onto the brides. And I'm fairly disgusted by the brides who let other people talk them out of what they love.

But as the mother of three girls, it is good for me to see all this now!

Another fan here. I love the dresses and am amazed by some of the big budgets.

I'm always amazed at how they look at a bride like she has two heads when she says her budget is anything under $5,000. "Katie wants a simple dress, but her budget is $4,500. It's going to be difficult to find something for her."

I love this show. I hate when a bride picks the "wrong" dress. And I can't believe the amount of money people are willing to spend.

I'm with you Angie - what gets me is the pricetag... gawwwsh!!! But it's fun seeing different family dynamics and hearing their stories.

I would love to be able to go back in time and have Randy pick out the perfect dress for me. He's awesome.

Of course, I spent a whopping $450 on my wedding dress and felt bad about it, so I'd have to adjust my expectations just a smidge to shop at Kleinfelds.

I do get annoyed at the family dynamic and the budgets blow my mind.

I was married in 1988 and my sister in 1998. We both spent just 300$ on a gown. Mine was a clearance no name dress. My sister's was a Vera Wang sample. Both weddings were beautiful.

Add me to the list of those addicted to "Say Yes!"

BTW- I like the original, not the Atlanta version.

I recently saw an episode where I FINALLY saw a Patina Torna (or whatever her name is) dress look good on someone. I was amazed.

That's Pnina Tornai...I only know because I just googled it orngtongue.gif

So excited there's a new season. The new (well, new to me) floor manager is pregnant and all my old favorites are back. Can't wait for more Randy. I've missed him so. I don't like the Atlanta version at all. I'm a southern girl who loves Manhattan so I'm Kleinfeld all the way. This is all so funny to me since I've never even stepped foot in a bridal shop. The budgets totally floor me, too. I do the mental math during the show---me: "Hmmmm, $4,500 dress budget would cover x number of house/rent payments and pay for all the children's dental visits for the year. But dang, she does look nice."

I like this show as well. So does DH. Although he'd never admit it. But if I am watching it and he is home, somehow he always ends up sitting down and watching it with me...then commenting on which dress the women should pick and whether or not it is flattering on them. heh.

It is like watching life on another planet or something for me. I could never, in one million lifetimes, spend thousands of dollars on a dress. Even if I had a gajillion dollars in the bank I still could not justify spending $4000, $6000, $10,000 on one dress. I mean, fabric is fabric. Yes, there is a range of quality in silk. Or satin. Or whatever. And I am sure there is a noticeable difference in workmanship between a designer dress and a not-designer dress. But THOUSANDS of dollars worth? It is still just fabric...and thread...and I'm sorry, but no one can actually tell the difference between a real crystal and a fake crystal just by looking at it with your naked eye. I can't wrap my mind around it. Or maybe I am just tres pedestrian. heh.

It is particularly interesting when women spend tens of thousands of dollars on an ill-fitting, non-flattering dress. Why doesn't someone say...something?

I do love the stories of the women who put on THE dress and get all teary. Like they just know it's the one. Love that. :)
