Family Support Money Question:OHIO

I found out we qualified for family support money just a week ago. Actually I found out we were no longer allowed to use it past his third birthday, and that is when I found out it existed. Any way I have money to use by next Weds. Does anyone know if I can purchase a new carseat for DS. he is growing out of the one he has now. I wasn't sure if Family resource money can be used for that.

hi, i'm in cincinnati, and we have something called family support dollars. are you referring to the same thing? if so, i don't know for sure if you can purchase a car seat. if it's a special seat your l.o. needs, i would imagine yes. but if you're just referring to a new car seat because he's grown, etc., probably not. either way, there should be a person you can contact easily with questions. if you're in cincy, i'll give you the woman's name here. good luck - i hope you can get what you need!

I think I am referring to the same thing. I am in Toledo. That would make sense about the carseat. He has a language delay. I asked if I was able to purchase signing time, and I am. She said I could use it for things i need for him, but was not specific. I was just curious if anyone knew here for sure

that would be disappointing if you can't use it for a car seat, but there are tons of things that you can use it for - house renovations necessary/helpful for him, counseling for you/your spouse, cranial sacral therapy, educational toys, nutritional/dietary things, etc. i was surprised by how many things they covered. and at least for the therapists, you can request vouchers now and use them later.
